Hurrah it's March!!!

Hello!

Thank goodness it's March. I hope that the weather can now start warming up a bit here in the UK, I feel like it has been a cold winter, but then it may just be my age...

Woe is me...I picked up a cold a couple of weeks ago, but didn't feel 'fluey' so kept on with life as usual, however I've really not done myself any favors because last weekend I developed cold sores in my nose, yeah real pain,  I now have shingles, albeit mildly.
I am feeling really tired and under the weather and am trying to rest as I have been told to do, but I am right in the middle of completing my work for Uni...I am really miffed as I need my strength right now!!

Anyway, I had a 'no-buy' month last month which went really well, apart from a 'necessary' and heavily discounted purchase of Wet 'n' Wild items that are currently winging their way to me from the US, thanks Lisa!

I also had to make an emergency purchase of my favourite Simple Foaming cleanser which I  ran out of, and nothing else that I had, would suffice...

I had planned on going out over the weekend to have a Boots/Superdrug haul, but am not quite up to it, so I stayed in and browsed online and thought I would tell you about some of the items on my shopping list..

Accessories:
No 7 Illuminated Mirror (here)

I really need a new bigger mirror for my dressing table, and this one is illuminated, which is useful when the mornings are dark or you are getting ready in the evening.
The reviews are OK and it's reasonably priced.

Real techniques Expert Face Brush (here) and the Real Techniques Shading brush (here) which are to add to my core collection that I love and think live up to all my expectations in make up brushes.

Nails:
I really need some ridge filler base coat, though haven't decided yet which I will try. I like Nails Inc and have had good results with their 'save the nail' base coat (here), which is different from their main line, they do a ridge filler too, so think that will be worth trying.

Barry M have a range of Gelly nails, which I am looking at trying, especially a nude shade, called Lychee and a pink called Dragon Fruit, these are supposed to be super shiny and one coat coverage, but I need to read more reviews on these...

Hair:

The good thing about a 'no-buy' is that you get to use up those items that you have nearly finished, but didn't before you bought something new...but in February, I soon ran out of my heat protection spray, got 2 b Guardian Angel (here) and really missed it when I went back to a different brand that I had not finished...I really like this heat styling spray, it works perfectly on my coloured long hair.

I can recommend this as it is weightless, leaves your hair soft and shiny and the spray nozzle is fine so that the product is well distributed.  I will be picking up two of these as they are on offer.
Skin:

I am so pasty pale and poorly looking that I think a bit of facial self tanning is in order. I am keen on The Body Shop moisturisers, but cannot see one that self tans online, so I will probably try the Simple Kind to skin Sun kissed moisturiser (here) as a pick me up...

Make up:

I would like a new foundation, preferably a liquid one, which I can put on quickly and lasts all day. I usually wear mineral powder, that I make myself, and have used Bare Minerals for many years before that, but I sometimes feel like a good foundation can make simple eyes and lips look more polished...I have some presentations to do in the near future and possibly a couple of interviews, so I want to look my best.

I will probably try a drugstore brand as I don't plan on wearing the foundation every single day, I have a couple of ideas, but need to venture into a shop and have a try...any suggestions? I have a dry skin type at the moment...

I would like a couple of bright lipsticks, but again these are more for occasional wear rather than everyday, so I will have a look at the MUA range and Rimmel, who's lipsticks I love - the colours suit me and I have worn Rimmel lipsticks for years, they don't let me down...

I guess that isn't much of a list, but I imagine that there are all sorts of new and interesting products on the shelves to tempt me...I will see if I can gather pace to walk down to my local shops later and pick up some of these things.

Have you tried any of the items on my shopping list?

Bye for now

Your BBFF xxxx
